...potions are a bit too rare. Therefore victory is sometimes more about luck rather than skills (not that useful btw). Anyway, excellent game, and easily re-playable. Good investment.

I really liked this game and wanted to like it more. I commend the developers for trying to make a "real" game on the ipad, without IAP or other crap like that. The controls are clever and at least on the tablet they work very well (on the phone, not so much). The name implies a connection with dark souls. However, this game is nothing like that. I like that you really have to get better at the game to finish it, but it desperately needs balance. The classes are too uneven. The mage, for example, doesnt take less damage from magic, has attacks based on energy BUT has even less energy than the other classes. Also, many classes do not have any crowd control abilities. Couple that with the so-so updates and the result is frustration. I was only able to finish the game with the warrior so far. He and the adventurer are the best in my opinion. The rest have lower range, less energy and worse attacks, without enough advantages. Hope they fix this.

The game is fantastic! First, its very difficult... Its not a game you can beat in one hour or two... Second, its a retro game with dark and stunning visuals! Remember us how the games used to be good and hard in the 90s... Of course its not a game for everyone: its very difficult, retro visuals, rpg themed... But for those who loves games like this one! And this is maybe the best one! P.S.: After the latest update, sometimes the rotation screen becomes crazy and rotates even if the gadget is on the same position... P.S.2: Please, rocketcat! You have a hole community of fans that would love to play Mage Gauntlet in an iPhone 5/5s screen! Please, update MG to newer devices!

Its a simple game yet so challenging and fun! You die so many times but you just dont want to give up and keep going through! Also the story of each character and the game makes you fight harder to get to the end of the game and find out whats going to happen! That is a brilliant RPG! This is what is missing in the nowadays games!!! Challenging, Creative characters and story, Strategic gameplay, awesome soundtrack and fun!! A game that will make you use your mind to get through all of it! I hope it gets even bigger! I give it 10/10!!!

This is a great game. Lots of fun playing it, there are absolutely no down sides totally worth the money. Although there is a problem until today 10/16/2014 there has been no fixing of the boss fight crashes. I love it, but the crashes are annoying as f4ck.

enemies are too strong and have too many long range attacks for my taste , also , the mages attacks only go up , down , right and left not vertical . i do however enjoy playing and the fact that you can upgrade attacks giving them special abilities .

Can only see about 1 quarter of the screen on my Ipad1. Also much more pixellated than in review screenshots. Maybe game tries to display retina graphics resolution on my old screen. Dont buy if you own IPad 1 until this bug is fixed.

Rly nice work. Fine characterclasses and nice gameplay. Well in fact that some enemys can cast and shot in all degress and the mage is only able to do up down left and right its quite unfair and makes no sense.

I just love this game! Great art style, awesome character variations & its challenging without being unfair! Imho a must have and worth its money! I hope there will be more heroes and dungeons to unlock in the future!

This game is good enough that I actually wrote a review. it is worth your time and money... I feel bad that Rocketcat released this game on IOS ahead of Steam. This game is worth more than $5. The addition of Controller support has turned this into one of my favourite games ever.

Awesome game. I really like the throwback 16 bit style. The difficulty is challenging for sure but not overly so.
