Love this game. Extremely well crafted, great sound design and controls, hard and satisfying, and very addictive. Highly recommended!!!

I want to like this game. It has some things going for it. Like multiple playable characters with interesting storylines and different play styles. But! 1) It is WAY too hard. Maybe with a controller it would be better, but I doubt it. The update language says they tweaked the difficulty. But with PETS? Really? A slug that grants life? After playing the update I would say it is no easier than before. 2) The random levels, which are supposed to enhance replay value, are just annoying. Too many dead ends without any purpose. And every room just locks you in until you beat all the enemies. Does any real room you know of do this? 3) When you beat a level the game just kicks you back to the character choice screen, and you dont get to continue with any upgrades. Just about kills any replay value for levels already completed. 4) I could...but Im done.

Amazing game.. Just please fix the thing where youre in the catacombs and when you enter a portal, the game crashes.. Ive lost two rare hats because of this..

The game is truly fantastic, and nearly everything these idiots said in their negative reviews is easily countered. People complain about a difficulty spike and an underpowered character, for an example. Just play the game. Its hard compared to most games, but once you learn the little tricks, then it becomes significantly easier. However, this game still requires skill. For those of you who casually play video games, then expect an uphill battle as you struggle to meet the games expectations. Also, this game is NOT about grinding. Most of the upgrades for the characters are minor and dont have a large effect on gameplay(Although a few are very useful, such as recovering energy when using a tome charge on the Mage or the increase in duration of time-altering spells on the Spellsword). Once again, this game is about SKILL, not grinding for coins. If you cant succeed in an area, then that puny amount of extra health from an upgrade will let you get hit maybe one extra time. You must learn how the enemies act. The story is well-told and unique, plus each character has their own stories as well as special encounters. Levels are randomly generated, which is nice(Well, there are certain types of rooms, in different orders with different decorations and different enemy layouts etc.) and there are certain events that shed more light on the story of the tower. I still see new things every time I play, and Im a veteran at Wayward Souls. Oh, and we have hats. Lots of hats. They dont affect gameplay in any way besides cosmetic, but its still fun to grind for them when youre bored. :). My favorite game on the App Store, would recommend! Edit: Oh dear god, half the reviews I see complain about difficulty, and they made the game EASIER! I wish I could explain the game to all of these people, but alas, this is a review, not a guide. Pets were added, which provide extremely useful abilities in battle. There is new end-game content that I have yet to complete. The best gamers will be challenged by this game. Being geared toward experts, dont buy this game if youre someone who expects to win without trying. However, if you do, you WILL improve over time. Take a break if youre frustrated, but its worth it in the end.

Ive spent a lot of time with this game it reminds me of dark souls especially with the bosses. Also I really wouldnt mind if you could add more healing items or maybe for the Mage a healing spell or something.

I would have to say this is one of my favorite games I have ever purchased! The controls are so amazing, no other game of this kind (or any kind) has them! The controls are so great I love it so much! Okay enough about the controls from heaven, the storyline is amazing! Each character has their own reason for being in the tower, and I love learning their own stories. The different play styles of each character is fun to master as well. Now let me talk about the graphics and hats. The graphics are the best I have seen for this pixelated style of game. The colors and effects are totally amazing! The lighting is also quite awesome may I say. Now we move onto hats! I love them so much I cant even put it into words! Its funny that in this tower of ruin and death you find glorious hats along the way. Love it. Everything about this game makes me come back again and again. The controls, graphics, storylines (yes plural!), the characters, THE HATS! All of it. Stop reading reviews and buy it. Yes it is expensive I suppose, but with all of the ever changing levels and super secrets throughout the levels its worth every cent. (And dont forget about the hats!) 5/5 all day long. -Turtle

Awesome game. You should totally get it

Its like Rouge Legacy meets Secret of Mana. The game is definitely trying to kill you, lol. Enemies have tells and patterns, and its mainly the player that gets better, with incremental upgrades for the nice variety of characters. Also, finding randomized upgrades in the dungeon is nice because, even when you play the same character, they might have a totally different skill set by the time you get to the boss floor. Good jarb guys Ill be checking out your other games

Worth the most new and no iap so thats worthy. Primary complaints are as follows: char upgrades arent varied enough, Mage primary fire upgrades are all worse than the starting weapon and char abilities run on charges so they feel insignificant.

I like this game a lot but its to hard to play and takes up a crap ton of time thats just wasted because I can never Beat the first dungeon boss, if the developers would just make him easier to beat them everything would be awesome

Been playing for nearly two years and Im still playing since its still fun. If you havent seen what Rocketcat makes I recommend you check them out. Theyre still adding content updates to this game! Ive beaten the bronze, silver and gold dungeons on all the characters and the platinum dungeon with the warrior. Cant wait for Death Road to Canada! You guys are awesome!

I love this game but rarely I get health and the games really difficult and when you die you start all over.

the first level is hard please can they put a save progress because it starts over when you die

So I love the game I just have a list of things to add in the future. 1. Multiplayer, me and my brother need it, to beat levels and PVP. 2. It would be awesome to add more levels to the game, that would be nice since I am almost at the gold dungeon. 3. Well I dont have a third one because the game is so awesome! I love it!

Playing on a 6s plus, whenever I encounter a room in the mines with a lot of enemies, (specifically the ones that burrow underground and fire rocks in each direction when they reappear) the game crashes. Game doesnt save the progress at all, just a wasted run. Its frustrating because I want to keep playing but the risk of running into a game crashing room is not worth it right now.

I wanted to like this...but Mage Gauntlet is 10x better. This game is basically a more infuriating version.

I wish there was a little more permanence in the game, the upgrades are nice, but I feel that they are lacking.

Its a good game BUT it feels way too hard. Humphrey is almost impossible to beat with area effect shots. Please make it have like a way to make it a little more fair to fight him or give an extra life.
