Waiting for that new update!

I LOVE THIS GAME!! Every time I see an app needs updated I hope thats its this game because I want to play it with this new paladin character. Love the game fun to play, not to eat.

Just a really great game

I bought the game soon after it came out and Ive been playing it since and over that time Ive had lots of fun with it overall. Definitely would recommend for anyone

this game is crazy

good game. very challenging. keep the updates coming! staying on my phone.

Super duper hard!

Ive played the 1st level like 20 times trying to level up the character and move on to the 2nd level. But it is too too too hard. Deleting the game after a week of repetitive boring unbeatable game. Im sorry I wasted this money.

Amazing action game

This is one of the best action games ive played in the past couple years regardless of the platform, the fact it is a mobile game makes it even more impressive!

Epic game, ignore trollers

Edit: Oh my god Im dying laughing at some of these low-star reviewers who have literally no idea what theyre talking about. The game is truly fantastic, and nearly everything these idiots said in their negative reviews is easily countered. People complain about a difficulty spike and an underpowered character, for an example. Just play the game. Its hard compared to most games, but once you learn the little tricks, then it becomes significantly easier. However, this game still requires skill. For those of you who casually play video games, then expect an uphill battle as you struggle to meet the games expectations. Also, this game is NOT about grinding. Most of the upgrades for the characters are minor and dont have a large effect on gameplay(Although a few are very useful, such as recovering energy when using a tome charge on the Mage or the increase in duration of time-altering spells on the Spellsword). Once again, this game is about SKILL, not grinding for coins. If you cant succeed in an area, then that puny amount of extra health from an upgrade will let you get hit maybe one extra time. You must learn how the enemies act. The story is well-told and unique, plus each character has their own stories as well as special encounters. Levels are randomly generated, which is nice(Well, there are certain types of rooms, in different orders with different decorations and different enemy layouts etc.) and there are certain events that shed more light on the story of the tower. I still see new things every time I play, and Im a veteran at Wayward Souls. Oh, and we have hats. Lots of hats. They dont affect gameplay in any way besides cosmetic, but its still fun to grind for them when youre bored. :). My favorite game on the App Store, would recommend! Edit again: Oh dear god, half the reviews I see complain about difficulty, and they made the game EASIER! I wish I could explain the game to all of these people, but alas, this is a review, not a guide. Pets were added, which provide extremely useful abilities in battle. There is new end-game content that I have yet to complete. The best gamers will be challenged by this game. Being geared toward experts, dont buy this game if youre someone who expects to win without trying. However, if you do, you WILL improve over time. Take a break if youre frustrated, but its worth it in the end.

Worth the money

Ive been having a lot of fun with this game. Bought it to pass the time traveling and its worth every penny!

Perfect Game

Everything about this game accomplishes what it set out to be. Its a polished and enthraling experience which has kept me busy for a very long time. Ive never gotten value like this out of 5 dollars.

Great game

i like the game and the game content. I especialy love that they dont ask u to rate it every 5seconds like other games.

Perfect.

For the amount of quality and content, good luck finding a better value for your money. Rocketcat never disappoints.

RocketCat delivers

Finally beat the 4th dungeon. Great game. Probably too hard for its own good.

Great game, great support

Love this game and its continued updates!

Awesome

This is a funny and enveloping game that has at least one character for everyone to enjoy.

Best action RPG on iOS hands down

I dont normally enjoy rogue-likes, because randomized dungeons are usually garbage. Wayward Souls doesnt have that problem. The dungeons are random, but the rooms feel carefully designed. It combines the best of both worlds.

Fake reviews I think

Graphically, its worse the the original Nintendo games. Game play is silly, move through dungeon and hack at pixelated figures of enemies, I dont know what people are talking about when they talk this game up and for $6.99, its absurd to me.

Great but not without problems

First off this game is hard too hard sometimes it seems but things can eventually get easy when you practice but I have a few problems. First off I got to the diamond dungeon and my game crashed halfway through and now I cant get any more hats and the first achievement for the cultist isnt real clear on what youre supposed to do and when I did find out what to do the achievement still wont unlock but even with those 2 tiny problems its still really fun and Id recommend to check it out.

Feels like an actual video game

This is without exaggerating the best game i have ever played on a phone. The controls, the challenge and replay value make it a great game. It does feel like an old school video game. We need more games like this and less mobile strike and game or war BS type games!!! Looking forward to the next update and future games from this developer.

Best game on the App Store!

W.S is possibly the best game on the iOS market! It has tons of content and HUGE replay ability! I love this game!

16-bit Dark Souls

Prepare to die... A lot. This devilishly charming game is pretty to look at, easy to control, yet challenging to master. Having no pay-to-win micro transactions, this game rewards skill, perseverance, and learning through dying. The character-classes are all unique and offer widely varied gameplay with their own individual storylines. Its as if Secret of Mana, Spelunky, and Dark Souls were blended together in a very enjoyable way. If you enjoyed any of these titles, do yourself a favor and get this.

Hope they keep on keepin on

When I first got Magegauntlet two years ago, I instantly respected its gameplay and lighthearted, but enthralling story. I assumed Rocketcat games would make the obvious monetary decision and follow up on Lexis story- so, when Wayward souls first came out I was disappointed at what I saw as a break from a better franchise for a quick dark souls money grab. Fortunately, nothing could be further from the truth; in fact, the story of Wayward souls is tangentially connected with mage gauntlet, showing that Rocketcat is both willing to take risks with wide ranges of games and are sitting on what I can only imagine is a goldmine of lore. Everything here has been tweaked to make a completely fresh game, from the gloomier tone, beautiful but haunting music. (seriously; Joey Grady, you deserve a bonus or prize or something), and clever new designs for both your character(s) and enemies. Additionally, the dash button from Magegauntlet has been replaced with swiping up and down for all sorts of new, but limited abilities; spells, shields, lanterns, e.t.c. This leads to my only gripe with the game- I wish there was an abilities button option instead of the slightly awkward swipe. Maybe its just me- I dont know. Thats just a small issue in an otherwise creative and interesting game that has a fascinating story and timeline in the vein of Zelda or Marvel. Of course, this game wouldnt be complete with some of Rocketcats quirky humor- for example, I ran into a wizard who was going to take over the world with his pie recipe of doom. This game is definitely worth more than what theyre asking for, especially considering that there are absolutely zero in app purchases. In short, please buy this and support a wonderful game by a wonderful company so that they can continue making their unique and fascinating universe grow. ( Rocketcat, if you ever read this, please make Magegauntlet two! I know it would be great.)
